About the Art

The sculpture in Sundari Chowk, depicting Lord Krishna’s victory over Kaila, is a 7th-century Newari art masterpiece. The artist, who has been inspired by Newari art since childhood, aims to raise awareness about these hidden masterpieces. He has been studying “sacred art of Nepal” for years, but now focuses on the “forbidden masterpieces of Nepal.” The artwork draws inspiration from Hinduism, specifically the victory of Lord Krishna over Kaliya. The theme of the biennale reflects the interconnectedness of spirituality and religion, with everything holding sacred significance. The artist used a monochromatic approach, using waterproof ink refill and line hatching techniques with a pilot pen. The artwork aims to reveal the true form of these original artifacts and their significance.
