About the Art

The Seto Matsyendranath is the Lokesvara locally known as Jahabaha Dyo and Karunamaya. The lokesvara is worshipped by Buddhists as well as Hindus. According to the myth, during the reign of Yaksha Malla, Lord Seto Matsyendranath appeared in a pond near present-day RaniPokhari. 

The god is of white complexion, has his eyes half-opened, looking down upon the people of earth.
