The teachings of Nāmasaṅgīti are among Sakyamuni Buddha’s most advanced and in-depth discourses. While the story of Buddha’s Dharmacakra Pravartana (turning of the wheel of Dharma) at Rishipatana Mrigadawan in Saranath to Panca Bhadra Vargiya Bikkhu is quite famous, the other two are not. In Giddakuta Parvata, he delivered the sermon on Prajñāpāramitā, and later at Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva’s urging, he delivered the sermon on Nāmasaṅgīti.
