Asha Dangol focuses on environmental changes in the Himalayas through his piece “New Avatar.” He emphasizes the importance of addressing climate change’s impact on the Himalayan glaciers, which are the largest deposit of ice and snow. Dangol calls for a societal awakening to protect the glaciers and calls for respect for all mountains, including Mt. Everest. His artwork features the mask of Bhairav, the protector deity of Dharma, and merges nature and culture to convey his eco-critical perspective. By dismantling traditional order, he communicates his sentiments in response to this chaotic context.
