About the Art

The Goddess of superior wisdom and transcendent wisdom Prajñā Pāramitāis the perfected way of seeing the nature of reality. She is regarded as the Goddess who has thorough and complete knowledge of enlightened knowledge (Bodhigyana). The Goddess is the personification of the concept in Boddhisattva known “as the great mother”. A fundamental principle in Mahāyāna Buddhism and a doctrine of the void (Shunyata), or 'lack of Svabhava' (essence) is typically associated with the goddess Prajñā Pāramitā.

The goddess is typically seated on a lotus and has four arms. On the upper left hand, she holds a book, a rosary in the right hand while her lower hands are in Dharma Chakra Mudra.
