Two Karunamaya Jatras are celebrated in Kathmamdu Valley, Jana BahāDyo Jatra (White Karunamaya) and Bunga Dyo Jatra (Red Karunāmaya). Karunamaya are compassionate beings who liberate sentient beings from suffering. A chariot with 32 divine characteristics, constructed with 365 wood pieces, is believed to embody great divinities like Bhairava, Naaga, the sun and the moon.
