About the Art

Sadaksari Lokesvara is also called Chenrezig by the Tibetan followers. He is one of the forms of Bodhisattva Avalokiteswara. Sadaksari Lokesvara is associated with the six syllables "OM MA NI PAD ME HUN", which is considered very efficacious when continuously chanted.

The Lokesvara is four-armed and always decked with various oraments. He is white and two of his arm gestures Anjali mudras (palm joined together) holding a Ratna (jewel). The jewel symbolizes knowledge. The two hands hold a prayer bead and a lotus flower.
