About the Art

Vajravarahi is a fierce form of Vajrayogini. She symbolizes the supreme power that removes all obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Her crown of five skulls symbolizes the power to transfer five negative afflictions – greed, hatred, delusion, jealousy and pride into five pearls of wisdom. She is usually depicted with a kapala (skull cup) filled with blood and a khatawanga (long studded club). Her feet stepped on a corpse, symbolizes the victory over ego and the elimination of illusions.
