About
Born in Patan, Nilesh Shakya grew up in a Shakya family, surrounded by Buddhist rite, rituals and art. Shakya worked as a traditional sculptor for over 10 years before being introduced to modern art in 2012/13. Despite changing their expression style, the medium and content remained the same, focusing on creating Buddhist gods and goddesses like an artisan, often producing the same product without considering its philosophical value.
