Traditional Artists


About

Born in 1962, Hyoju received training of Paubha painting from Ishwori Karmacharya (1980 - 1983). He has participated over 25 exhibitions held by national and international organizations since 1980. Besides Paubha painting, he is knowledgeable and proficient in Japanese, Tibetan and Maithili traditional art. He has participated in jury panel for various traditional art competitions, organized by NAFA, Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal, and other organizations.  

 

He has assisted in setting standard of Paubha painting and developing study curriculum for CTEVT and Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal. He has performed various role as Trainer - Programs related to Paubha paintings, organized by National Museum, Chhauni. Treasurer - Traditional Art Association of Nepal, Secretary - Khowpa Pauva Chomi Pucha (Artist Group of Bhaktapur), and Coordinator of some art exhibitions held by Khowpa Paubha Chomi Pucha. He is also a member of exhibition committee of Handicraft Associations of Nepal, Nepal Association of Traditional Art, Nepal Bhasha Academy and Art Council Babar Mahal.
