About
Umesh Shrestha, born in 1975, grew up in Gairimudi, Nepal, and later moved to Kathmandu for higher education. He earned a master's degree in Creative Painting from Tribhuvan University and continues to work in Kathmandu. Inspired by his grandfather who was an astrologer, he painted on the walls of his village home in red clay with ox tail hairs and bamboo sticks. He has been awarded by various organizations, including the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Ministry of Culture and Civil Aviation, and Tribhuvan University. His paintings are in private collections in Nepal and abroad, combining realism, abstraction, and expressionism.
