Most wall paintings have been obliterated from history due to lack of proper conservation. This is irreversible, and a great loss to our culture. The catastrophic earthquakes of 2015 CE caused major damage to hundreds of heritage buildings and monuments. The gaping cracks on the brick facade caused by the earthquakes made a deep, long-lasting mark on artist. With this painting, he seeks to highlight the need for preservation of our precious tangible heritage, which we are rapidly losing due to
natural disasters and man’s lack of vision to preserve our heritage.
