About the Art

Vajrapani is one of the earliest Bodhisattva of Mahayana Buddhism: a protector and remover of obstacles that symbolizes Buddha’s power. In the painting, he is represented in peaceful form holding lalitasana. In his right hand, he holds Vajra whereas in his left is lotus.
